Is it worth going to Melbourne aquarium?
Is it worth going to aquarium in Melbourne?
How much is it and what's the beat form of transport for getting there?-
Jaidev S: Melbourne aquarium is a great aquarium (I much preferred it to Sydney's - I didn't constantly feel like they were trying to squeeze all the money they could out of me).
The antarctic section is great (penguins!), and the place is really well laid out.
The aquarium is in town, and the easiest way to get there would be to train to Flinders Street Station, and then tram south to King Street. Alternately you could train to Southern Cross Station, then walk two blocks south along Spencer St and then one block east along Flinders St

Entry fee was $32 from memory - it was definitely worth it.about 17 hours ago -
Joanne Dumaresq: I agree with Jaidev S we really enjoyed the aquarium when we went. It is quite large and has many different aquariums reflecting various habitats.
Depending on where you stay it is quite easy to walk to the Aquarium, we did it with our two children (14 and 11) and had no problems getting around Melbourne.
Tickets are a bit expensive ($32.50 for adults) but some of the tourist brochures you can pick up from the t\Tourist Centre at Federation Square have discount vouchers.
It's a good idea to visit the Tourist Centre as they have a lot of good info available.about 11 hours ago

Where are the best Lebanese restaurants in Melbourne Cbd ?
Staying in the city and would like to try a really good lebanese restaurant?
-
Hannahbabble: Hrm, not sure there are many (or any) in the actual cbd - you have to head a bit north, Brunswick and Carlton way.
I would say that the best Lebanese restuaurant in Melbourne is Abla's, in Carlton (very short tram ride from the city). http://www.ablas.com.au/
It's an institution - it's been there almost 30 years - and the food is amazing.about 23 hours ago - 1 person liked this answer

Jeff Trounce: There's a little gem in Kew called Svago. Modern, almost tapas-style Italian. Not cheap but not expensive. In HIgh St, just past Kew Junction, about 15 mins from CBD.2 days ago - 1 person liked this answer

Hannahbabble: There's a relatively new place in the city called Barbagallo Trattoria e Pizzeria that's pretty damn good - excellent produce used and very skillfully made pasta and pizza

And if you were happy to pay a bit more, I'd definitely reccommend Da Noi in South Yarra - you pay a set price and the chef just cooks food for you (I think the menu differs from table to table).

Bruce Elder: Not a lot. It tends to be a holiday destination with lots of fast food and quick food options. Want an ice cream, a pancake, fish and chips, they are all there. There is even a particularly good fish shop for people wanting to do a little cooking themselves. There have been noodle shops and similar but they tend not to last. How can you survive when all people want is takeaway.
Anyway, the consensus from last year's Good Food Guide was that there was not a single restaurant in the area worth more than 12/20 - which is the cut off point - so Batemans Bay received no listings in the guide which is an accurate assessment of the best the state has to offer.1 day ago - 1 person liked this answer

Katrina: If you are coming from the centre of the city, the Manly ferry is the easiest and most likely the quickest as the traffic can be pretty bad.7 days ago - 1 person liked this answer

Stuart Hely: Hey Katrina!
There is one way and one way only to get to Manly (and enjoy the trip) and that is by ferry. You can check out the timetable here: http://www.sydneyferries.info/timetables/manly-ferry.htm . Make sure that you sit outside at either end of the ferry so that you can look both sides as you cross the harbour. Of course you could drive as I do every day but the ferry is the go for visitors.
Have fun on the ferry and enjoy Manly! Try to get to see some more of the Northern Beaches whilst you are over here.

kelly Douglas: Most Car companies have a limit of 21 however between 21-25 you will pay a higher insurance rate. Campervans are pretty much the same depending on the size. If you are just renting a small camper (say tarago/minibus size) then wont be much more but if its a massive family campervan then you would be looking at additional costs depending on your age!7 days ago - 1 person liked this answer

Webcarhire: Car hire companies normally require renters and their additional drivers to be over 21 and hold a full driver's license.
If you don't fit this criteria, some smaller car hire companies might be able to help you out. You can find out if they do by reading their Terms and Conditions before booking.
Remember, being under 25 will affect the cost of your insurance premium.
It's a similar story for campervan hire, where 21 is again the age minimum.

Michael: http://www.uws.edu.au/campuses_structure/cas/campuses/parramatta covers the alternatives pretty well.
The train is 5-10 minutes walk but runs a limited timetable, so it really depends on the time of day you need to travel.
There's buses as well, but, well ... buses are rarely the best way to get anywhere around here.7 days ago

What time of year to visit Airlie Beach?
I am looking to visit Airlie Beach in Queensland, but have no idea about the jellyfish seasons. What times can I safely swim without a stinger suit?
I've also read that the water there is self-chlorinated - is this true? Is it strong enough to be irritating?-

Tresna: Perama Greek restaurant in Petersham is fantastic. The food is wonderful and they accommodate larger groups (though I don't know the maximum number). The banquet is an easy way to keep things simple with ordering, and includes BYO wine corkage.

Samantha D'Angelo: Golden Century on Sussex St in Chinatown. They have a variety of table sizes, I saw a party of 10 and they weren't even at the biggest table! The prices aren't too bad if you have 12+ you can get banquets starting at 38$. The serving size of the regular dishes is massive.
They specialize in seafood, and have a huge range of live creatures in tanks as you walk in - one of the dishes we had was Sauteed Prawns and Vegetables. The prawns were cooked to perfection! I haven't enjoyed prawns in ages and would go back simply to order all of their prawn creations!
The waiters are a little harried because they are really busy, but the service is still timely and you get watermelon and cookies after your meal, as well as complimentary tea. They also have a massive wine list.9 days ago -
Mafer Kendel: There are a lot of restaurants located in King street in Newtown that you might find interesting and that I reckon might be able to serve a large amount of people specially if you call them before and make a reservation, so I suggest you swing by the zone and check it out. You can reach there by train just hopping off at St. Peters station and just walk up the street :)9 days ago
