Honor Dargan: I agree with Garry. This is the easiest and most comfortable route : )about 19 hours ago

Paquita Wiesner: Thank you very much. Is there a lot of walking around to find the right trains etc (ie with our luggage)? And is it necessary to pre-book any of the train passages or can we get it all sorted easily on the fly? (We don't speak Japanese!) We're getting in to NEX around 5pm so just concerned about timing etc.about 18 hours ago

Garry Weil: You should be okay getting a NEX ticket once you arrive. I would pre-book the train to Nagano though. Should be able to do that online.about 1 hour ago

Is it worth going to Melbourne aquarium?
Is it worth going to aquarium in Melbourne?
How much is it and what's the beat form of transport for getting there?-
Jaidev S: Melbourne aquarium is a great aquarium (I much preferred it to Sydney's - I didn't constantly feel like they were trying to squeeze all the money they could out of me).
The antarctic section is great (penguins!), and the place is really well laid out.
The aquarium is in town, and the easiest way to get there would be to train to Flinders Street Station, and then tram south to King Street. Alternately you could train to Southern Cross Station, then walk two blocks south along Spencer St and then one block east along Flinders St

Entry fee was $32 from memory - it was definitely worth it.about 17 hours ago -
Joanne Dumaresq: I agree with Jaidev S we really enjoyed the aquarium when we went. It is quite large and has many different aquariums reflecting various habitats.
Depending on where you stay it is quite easy to walk to the Aquarium, we did it with our two children (14 and 11) and had no problems getting around Melbourne.
Tickets are a bit expensive ($32.50 for adults) but some of the tourist brochures you can pick up from the t\Tourist Centre at Federation Square have discount vouchers.
It's a good idea to visit the Tourist Centre as they have a lot of good info available.about 11 hours ago

Where are the best Lebanese restaurants in Melbourne Cbd ?
Staying in the city and would like to try a really good lebanese restaurant?
-
Hannahbabble: Hrm, not sure there are many (or any) in the actual cbd - you have to head a bit north, Brunswick and Carlton way.
I would say that the best Lebanese restuaurant in Melbourne is Abla's, in Carlton (very short tram ride from the city). http://www.ablas.com.au/
It's an institution - it's been there almost 30 years - and the food is amazing.about 23 hours ago - 1 person liked this answer

Sam Araz: Depends on what you consider reasonably priced?!
I have stayed at Hotel des Academies et des Arts and really liked it, and found it good value and well located.
Friends think that the Novotel chain is not too bad.
You dont go to Paris to stay inside the hotel I guess!1 day ago - 1 person liked this answer

Jeff Trounce: There's a little gem in Kew called Svago. Modern, almost tapas-style Italian. Not cheap but not expensive. In HIgh St, just past Kew Junction, about 15 mins from CBD.2 days ago - 1 person liked this answer

graham: Hi there Jeff, how the Devil are you? (Graham Kingaby here). I'll make sure that I get into Svagos on the next trip.

Hannahbabble: There's a relatively new place in the city called Barbagallo Trattoria e Pizzeria that's pretty damn good - excellent produce used and very skillfully made pasta and pizza

And if you were happy to pay a bit more, I'd definitely reccommend Da Noi in South Yarra - you pay a set price and the chef just cooks food for you (I think the menu differs from table to table).

Bruce Elder: Not a lot. It tends to be a holiday destination with lots of fast food and quick food options. Want an ice cream, a pancake, fish and chips, they are all there. There is even a particularly good fish shop for people wanting to do a little cooking themselves. There have been noodle shops and similar but they tend not to last. How can you survive when all people want is takeaway.
Anyway, the consensus from last year's Good Food Guide was that there was not a single restaurant in the area worth more than 12/20 - which is the cut off point - so Batemans Bay received no listings in the guide which is an accurate assessment of the best the state has to offer.1 day ago - 1 person liked this answer
