Where's the best Khantoke dinner in Chiang Mai? With traditional thai dance etc.
I have heard plenty of good reports about The Old Chiangmai Cultural Centre, 185/3 Wualai Road, Chiangmai 50100 Tel: 053 275 097, 274 540, 202 993-5 Fax: 053 274 094. (http://www.oldchiangmai.com/index_en.php) Khum Khantoke also seems to be popular (Chiangmai Business Park, 130 Moo 4, Nong Pakrung Tel: 053 304 121-2, 260 504 Fax: 053 304 123). This is only from what I have read and heard, I have to confess to never having been to a Khantoke dinner - my brother-in-law is a traditional northern Thai musician so I get my fill of the food, drink, music and dance at family parties and various temple events! I have recently started collecting Chiang Mai stories (there is one, a video, on Khantoke at the Cultural Centre) you might be interested in: http://www.scoop.it/t/chiang-mai-rose-of-the-north/p/760507731/chiang-mai-city-arts-cultural-center . over 6 years ago

Motorcycling Tours Chiang Mai
Golden Triangle Rider (http://www.gt-rider.com/) would be a very good place to start. David Unkovich (The GT Rider) has mapped Thailand and Laos, he drew the first accurate map of northern Thailand and has written several tour books around the subject. Rider's Corner Bar and Restaurant (http://www.riderscorner.net/) might also be worth making note of. There's some great countryside around here, enjoy! almost 6 years ago
