I will be in Ipoh for 2 days next week . Can someone recommend what is the must see and must eats during my short stay there . Thank you
For Dim Sum I recommened Yoke Fok Moon, Ming Kok or Foh San, all three are on the same lane. For chicken kuewtiao you can try the lou wong's version but it will be very crowded, if you can, look for the one at buntong, it's not very famous among non-locals but it's really good and it's only open at night. I recommend the chicken feet, they're available after 8.30pm. For the white coffee there are quite a few places, but try the one in old town (yes, the old town Ipoh, as in the old building, not the franchised ones) the shop's name is Nam Heong (opens in the morning), there you can get roti baker, char kuewtiao, portugese egg tart, curry mee and more. The kopitiam opposite Nam Heong also serves great white coffee. If you want to have white coffee at night I suggest the coffee shop by the name "Chang Jiang" . It's on the way to Pasir Puteh and it opens at night. If you have time maybe you could try the Claypot chicken rice at Bercham. over 6 years ago
I would recommend Penang. There are many hotels that are located near the beach, and Penang offers a wide variety of food selection, be it in the morning or at night. It's a beautiful city. =) almost 8 years ago
I recommend Foh San, Ming Court, Yoke Fook Moon. Theses three Dim Sum places are located on the same street. You'd have to be there early in the morning to get good seats, they are usually packed. The salt-steamed chicken is great, you can also try the good old White Coffee, the one located at Old Town. I like the ones at Sun Yuen Long, opposite this kopitiam is another shop that offers really good egg tarts and Char Kuey Teow. There's also Penang Prawn Mee *If my memory serves me correctly*. There are many "snack" stalls around that area, and it's open in the morning. almost 8 years ago
