What's the best and cheapest way to see the east coast?
I think you definitely have a great idea with the driving. Driving is one of the best ways to see the country and you can make accommodation cheaper by having a tent and sleeping bags so that you can camp in national parks where the overnight park entry fee is usually per car, and so almost always cheaper than staying at caravan parks or hostels. Australia has a great network of visitor information centers dotted all througout the country in pretty much every regional town and they will always be able to point to you campsites in the area. In terms of rental, if you are staying for quite a long time (a month or more) it may even be worth you money to buy a second hand car at the beginning of your trip and then sell it to other travellers at the end. over 3 years ago

First visit to Lisbon, Portugal - any suggestions on hotels, eats and sites to see?
The metro is pretty easy to use and can get you most places. Pretty much all tourists head to Belem to try the famous pastries, and to Alfama for dinner with a Fado performance. But both experiences are definitely worth doing! over 2 years ago

I will be travelling to Australia for a year long working holiday. What are the top tips you'd recommend for staying safe?
Make friends with the visitor information centre staff. Many regional and rural towns have visitor information centres. Often they are staffed by volunteer locals. We have found them to be an incredible resource in the past. They have helped us with information about road closures, given us awesome tip offs for getting off the highway, and have even warned us about a locust swarm that was on the way! And the best bit is that they are often super duper enthusiastic about their local town which always makes for great conversation. over 2 years ago
