Thoughts on 'backpacking' from Singapore to Bangkok?

Definitely possible. Bangkok-Singapore is one of the biggest backpacker routes out there, no harm in doing it the other way! I'd probably take the bus from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. From KL you can either go straight to Penang or bounce off to check out the Perhentian Islands for a bit. After that you can get a minibus from Penang that'll take you to Krabi and then you're off in Thailand. Pick which beaches you like the look of and you can't go too far wrong. Phi Phi, Koh Tao, Railay... Buses and ferries will get you around for the most part. Keep an open mind, you'll meet a crateload of people along the way. You might want to head on with them, or you might want to be getting away from them as asaply asap. If you're not super keen on buses you can always fly from KL to Phuket, cost you a bit more cash money but it'll save you hours and will be a fair bit more comfortable. Once you're in Thailand you'll pretty much have to take buses and boats though. Hope that helped some! over 2 years ago

Hoping to backpack from Nepal to Thailand this October, would love some advice!

You've given yourself heaps of time. Bus/train would definitely be the way I'd be going. Check out East India/Bangladesh if you get a chance. They're so little travelled, but there's some amazing stuff to see. I will say you're going to struggle to get into Myanmar overland. Things are opening up but the land borders are kept pretty tight. Flying into Yangon is going to be your best bet. If you've got any specific questions let me know, happy to help out as best I can. over 2 years ago

which is the best website to book multi-city international flights?

There's heaps. Look into Skyscanner, Google Flights, and Kayak. There are some smaller ones out there as well like Hipmunk, Skiplagged, DoHop, Faregeek and Routehappy. over 2 years ago
