Can I use a camera in public in Thailand?

Definitely 100% you can use your camera freely in Thailand. Remember, Thailand is the Land of Smiles. However, if you want to take shots inside a temple (for example), then I think it is appropriate and polite to ask for permission first. over 6 years ago

Where to go for cheap but original, or at least lower prices, for iPad accesssories, etc. in Singapore?

Try Funan Centre or any "Challenger Shop" outlets. They have one very large Challenger Shop right at the very top of Funan Shopping Centre. Whatever you do, please avoid places like Sim Lim Tower, Sim Lim Square & Lucky Plaza. over 6 years ago

What are the best tourist spots in Kota Kinabalu?

Hi Brian, Depending on what you are looking for, if you are the energetic and adventurous type then climbing Mount Kinabalu is a must. Most if not all travel agencies there can make the necessary arrangements for you. Climbing does not need ropes etc because they have a well beaten path all the way up to the top. You only need stamina and a good pair of strong legs. Secondly, if you like the sun, the sand and the sea then I suggest you go to the Tanjung Aru beach which is considered one of the finest in Asia. Last but not least, if you are in for culture and are intrigued by the natives' way of life, make an effort to visit the "Tamus" where the natives gather to sell their wares. You can find strange exotic things on sale apart from the usual fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, meat etc. There is a Sunday market in Gaya Street in Kota Kinabalu held every Sunday and you will definitely find this interesting. Where would you guys go (traveling alone) if you have 10 days holidays?

Hi Jason, If you like historical facts then Europe is a good place to visit because of the Roman Empire's influence. However, the people that runs the retail outlets have 3rd world mentality. They have no ethics. Be prepared to be "fleeced" . I would strongly recommend you to spend your time in the USA because firstly, language is no barrier. Secondly, the things you buy are more often than not, value for money. The Americans have shown that they are an honest lot in their business dealings be it in food or consumer wares. They are genuinely warm and friendly. Thirdly, you will definitely and surely enjoy your vacation in the USA and it will be money and time well spent. over 6 years ago

I am going to Switzerland this coming week. What are the top 5 places to visit, to eat and to do?

If you are going to Lucerne then may I suggest you visit the following i.e. 1. The Lion's Monument (has very interesting history about it). 2. Take a relaxing scenic fjordlike lake cruise (approx. 1 hour) with the captain making commentaries on interesting buildings like old castles etc.) 3. Take a cable-car ride to the top of Mt. Titlis (20,000 ft). Ride will take you up with three (3) types of cable-cars. Their food-court also sells good food. You will not regret it. over 6 years ago

Is it necessary to get a Hepatitis B innoculation going to Indonesia

My advice is to get your Hep A & B jabs before going to Indonesia because it is better to be safe than sorry. Better late than never because once you have the immunisation in your body, you will be protected especially when the local foods you eat there "may" not be clean. An example is eating barbequed fish which may not be properly cooked especially at the stomach area; eating salads (washed by their tap water), taking drinks with ice cubes (ice cubes could have been direct from tap water). For your info, Indonesia's tap water is not advisable to be consumed. One is liable to get typhoid. Always drink bottled water and avoid ice cubes at all cost. Always eat foods that are piping hot and you will be safe. Last but not least, if you fancy fried things like fried chicken, banana fritters, fish etc., always take a walk to the kitchen and check out the frying oil. If the colour is similar to engine oil then it means they never change their cooking oil. Such little things can save one alot of unnecesssary problems in the long term like cancer, liver problems etc., over 6 years ago

Anyone know a good camera / gadget shop in kuala lumpur?

Suggest you visit Nikon website first before you start shopping; look for the camera model you want, browse through their appointed dealers' list (this is very important to avoid buying from parallel importers whose price may be slightly cheaper BUT the product could be a re-conditioned one) then make your decision. This is the better way to do if you are going to spend quite alot of money on photographic equipment like camera body, lens, flash, batteries etc., If purchased from an authorised dealer, you can be rest-assured the things are genuine and not fakes. over 6 years ago
