How much would it cost from nador to Sahara dessert or nearest town to get to Sahara desert

Hi Rose, the price would vary according to type of transportation. It cost more by taxis from one city to another...However, the best way to get from Nador to the Sahara (Merzouga dunes) would be taking a bus from Nador to Errachidia, then take another bus to Merzouga, or Erfoud and then from there take a van with local people. The price would be around 25 to 30 Euros. Have a great trip! over 5 years ago

what should I pack for Morocco. warm or cold?

Hi Cynthia, "Morocco is a cold country where the sun is hot." You should expect different temperature from an area to another and all depends on the season. Many people think that Morocco is a warm country while it is not. Morocco has registered the coldest temperature in all Africa. Is it safe to travel morocco solo? I am a 25 year old female.

hi Jess, Welcome to Morocco... Bag-snatching, theft, pick-pocketing and petty crime is no more a problem in Morocco than any other city or popular tourist destination. Most of the concerns about women's safety in Morocco relate to the level of harassment they receive. It rarely gets seriously physical (a little inappropriate touching at worst), but leering, hissing and lewd comments are constant and can wear you down. The best advice is to not engage the men in anyway, don't answer their greetings or react to their comments, simply ignore them and go about your business. However, if you were to respond I think you're understanding of French will be very useful (practice a few put-dons before you go). I suspect you're not the type to be wearing skimpy shorts and a halter-neck t-shirt, and will be modestly dressed which will go a long way to reducing the harassment. Try wearing a headscarf "Berber-style", with little more than the eyes showing, to further blend in. Don't walk up dark, deserted alleyways, stay aware to your surroundings, don't flash valuables and everything should be fine. Camel rides in Morocco

Hi and welcome to Morocco. Well, there is no train between Marrakesh and the sahara...But, take Supratours near the train station in Marrakesh at 9:00 from Marrakesh to Rissani or straight to Merzouga. It's less than 25USD per person. It's a long way, but you can break the journey in Todra Gorge or Dades Gorge for one night then carry on to the sahara the next day. One night in the sahara (Erg Chebbi in Merzouga would cost appr. 25Euros per person, camel ride, dinner in a camp in the dunes, bed and breakfast are included. the next day, you can get back to Marrakesh or any other place from Rissani. If you need more help, email me at brahimabounaceur@gmail.com , I'll be glad to help. cheers. over 5 years ago

I'm going to Morocco with a female friend and would like to know if it is safe to walk in the streets or are there cities to avoid?

Hi Elinor, Morocco is like every country in the World. There are cities it would be hard to explore by yourself, like Fes Medina with its 11 000 alleyways. You'd need a local guide there. The rest I think you'd be fine using LP. (However the maps suck sometimes). Walking in the streets at night has never been safe anywhere in the world. Petits taxis are available just negotiate the fare before getting in. As a woman, and as general guideline, shoulders, cleavage and knees should be covered at all times. Wearing shorts (men and women), low-cut tops, and showing midriff is not recommended as it will restrict your entry into buildings of a religious nature and family homes and is considered disrespectful to the local culture. Long, light-couloured, lightweight sleeved shirts, trousers and skirts are respectful, cover your body, keep you cool in the heat and protect you from the harsh sun and men's attention. Have a great trip. about 6 years ago

What is the recommended way to travel from Agadir to Casablanca and then to Marrakech? One person, got three weeks for the trip.

Hi, you will need to do the same way twice. You Take Supratours or CTM bus from Agadir to Marrakesh, then train from Marrakesh to Casablanca, then back the same way to Marrakesh. Or take a flight with Royal Air Maroc to Casablanca from Agadir then take train back to Marrakesh. It's cheaper these days. Welcome to Morocco! about 6 years ago

Will I need warm clothes for a day trip to the Atlas mountains?

The weather is impredictibe in the Atlas Mountains. Better to get ready for the rain and chilly temperatures. However, the Atlas Mountains are not only one range but 3 and each range has its own temperature. . But I assume you're going to Imlil in the Toubkal National Park where it gets very cold at night. Ifyou're tarvelling with a travel company, most of them use guesthouses and you shouldn't worry about the temperature but bed bugs! Get prepared about 6 years ago
