    How's Cairo nowadays?

Cairo is fine nowadays. Now marks the end of the month of Ramadan and the beginning of the Eid Celebrations that will end on Sunday August 12th. Still pro President Morsi protestors are staying with relatively large numbers in Nasr City and El Nahda square in Giza. Every now and then they make some rallies but overall their is no violence. If are thinking of visiting Cairo you might not witness any thing strange if you avoid the protestors' places. Hotels are working with a low occupancy rate and everything goes normal in the streets of Cairo. However, Cairenes are attentive to what will be the move of their police force to end the protests will their methods be violent or will they will be able to finish it peacefully???? we are all expecting!!! about 4 years ago

How to see the pyramids in Cairo?

The Pyramids is located in Giza about 12 Km from down town Cairo. If you are in a hotel in down town Cairo you can take a taxi that can cost you about 50-60 LE approx 10 dollars the entrance fees to the pyramids is 60 Le per person (10$). If your hotel is in Heliopolis it is further away so expect to pay more for the taxi. Many hotels offer a day tour to the Pyramids however it will be cheaper if you book it with a local travel agency. over 4 years ago

Would you recommend visiting Luxor or Dahab, in addition to Cairo and Giza? Note, it will be middle of December.

If you are monument and sightseeing oriented as "roundabout" mentioned then head to Luxor and enjoy the great temples and tombs over there. A felucca ride, strolling through the market place watching piles of colored spices and glittering merchandize as well as a clache ride are other activities which will add to your enjoyment of the city. Do not miss the balloon ride over the West Bank. Dahab on the other hand is a peaceful beach town that is still primitive but many who like tranquility enjoy it to the maximum more than Sharm El Sheikh. A bedouin lunch on the beach and strolling through the local market in Dahab is very nice. Windsurfing, diving as well as other water activities can be practiced while there. Luxor is accessible either by train 8 hours which departs at approx 7:00 pm or by by flight while Dahab is accessible via road of 6 hours drive. http://www.egyptholidaysdirectory.com almost 5 years ago
