Good places around Sydney for a road trip?

You can get a long way in a day, as far as Coffs Harbour, or further! As a guide, we often drive that far up the coast and it takes about 6-7 hours to get to Coffs. The surrounding land is beautiful up that way, especially the small town of Bellingen (bit flood prone at the moment). However, the Pacific Highway drive is pretty monotonous. You could shorten the drive and head down the South Coast, especially Jervis Bay. The drive has much better scenery, and far more towns with great cafes/pubs/etc to stop along the way. I would recommend around Hyams Beach, it's a tiny little village on Jervis Bay with a cafe, some houses, and that's about it. As for inland, I'm not too familiar with anything past the Blue Mountains! over 9 years ago

Where can I find a real Italian style macchiato in Sydney?

Mecca are great, but I've had my double espressos mucked up a few times there. Vella Nero (formally Velluto Nero) always seem to get both the double espresso and macchiato right, and roast their own award winning beans: VELLA NERO Roastery, Coffee Bean Boutique & Caffé Bar Shop 3 / 259 Clarence Street Sydney 2000 Australia Tel +61 2 9268 0755 over 9 years ago
