Is it OK to still visit Bangkok?

I don't think its safe at the moment given the violence between police and the red protestors that's risen in the last few days.I would travel elsewhere in Thailand and avoid BKK. almost 10 years ago

Where to go and party in Launceston on a Saturday night?

There are a number of clubs in Launceston but what happens is that everyone ends up at only ONE club, and the others are empty. A few years ago the Saloon bar was the popular night spot. Also a word of warning - be careful in the streets, even if you're with friends. There are some locals who try to pick fights - the best thing to do is to keep walking and don't say anything if you are being provoked. Launceston can be a bit rougher than your average Australian city. Have fun! almost 10 years ago

What is cheapest/best way for a family of 4 to get to Beecroft from Sydney airport tom @ 9am

Beecroft is about 39km away from Sydney Airport, so a taxi would cost (I am guessing) about $100. I think the cheapest and fastest way would be by train. Get a ticket to Beecroft from the station at the airport, then catch a train to Central, and change to a Epping to Hornsby line (Red line) that is travelling north, and get off at Beecroft. Trains are very regular - about every 15 minutes. You can look at the rail map here (Beecroft is two stops after Epping on the red line) http://www.cityrail.info/stations/pdf/CityRail_network_map.pdf Hope that helps! almost 10 years ago

    watch buying in bangkok

The "legitimate" shopping outlets on Sukhumvit road (such as Central World Plaza) were about the same price as in Australia when I was there last year. You can also claim the 7% sales tax back at the airport. If the purchase price is greater than 2,000 Baht you can ask for a "VAT refund for tourists" receipt, which you can claim back at the airport if you have purchased more than 5,000 Baht of goods (accompanied by the VAT refund receipts from the store). More info is here: http://www.thaiwaysmagazine.com/tips/vat_refund.html If you go to the china town area in Bangkok there's a number of markets that sell very cheap watches and electronics - but I wouldn't expect to find genuine products! Good luck! almost 10 years ago

What's the best places to eat in Phuket? Wea re staying at Mariot Beach Club and Mom Tri's Villa Kata Beach?

The best places I've eaten in Thailand have been where the locals eat! It may or may not be your cup of tea, but the cheap looking places with the locals eating were by far my best meals in Thailand! I thought all the 'western' restaurants were rubbish. Enjoy! almost 10 years ago

Best places to stay in Grand Canyon, Page, Bryce, Zion, Death Valley, Yosemite, Frisco, Monterey & Santa Barbara? Best value for money?

That's a long list of places! You might be better off asking a question about each place so your questions get better matches. Sounds like a great trip! almost 10 years ago
