Where can we go in Southeast Asia or Indonesia that won't be crazy busy around Xmas / New Year time?

That's very specific! Fact is anything along this line will take a while to get to from syd, the more remote the more likely mum and pa and their three kids won't be near! There is not really any resort style accom, but if you book early might score yourself an aircon bungalow just off the beach. Koh Tao island in Thailand could be worth it as it has nice beaches a young scuba diver community and when I was there there was not a single kid there. Travel to there is usually overnight train from bkk then a 2 hour ferry. about 7 years ago

what is the best time to get to Angkor Wat?

Angkor is amazing, just bring decent walking shoes with some grip on them especially if you end up going in the wet season, the ruins will be slippery and as you will be climbing up and down on them and inside them, its worth being careful. over 7 years ago

Any good tiger/elephant tours or places to visit in Patong, Phuket?

the tour busses go around the south of Phuket, you can pick up any tour when you are over there for the next day, "Phuket Half-Day Safari Tour" goes to a few little places with elephants, snake farms, (not sure about the tigers though) As for Tigers, most will be chained up in cages in Phuket.. Your best bet is if you want to see tigers ethically and safely cared for is in konchanaburi near the burmese border, only a day trip from bangkok, you would be looking for the tiger temple (once again book any where in bangkok) they have a yellow pamphlet and its run by a budhist monastery over 7 years ago

Top 5 fun things in Phuket Thailand #fun #Phuket #nonculture

recently went, top 4 things we did: hire a scooter (not for the wary!), jet skiing, go karting, patong beach clubs. dont try to pat the dogs on the street when drunk unless you buy them a stick of bbq meat. they might bite your hand! over 7 years ago

Are there any recently opened restaurants in Hobart that are worth checking out?

a place worth checking out is Monty's, its not opened in the last six months, but you will enjoy yourselves in front of the open fire. Menu changes every month, so its like a new resteraunt every time! Went there last week and all 9 of us enjoyed our meals. The Chef enjoys creating delicious taste sensations for dessert combining intense sweet with savoury. over 7 years ago
