Hi I am living in the UK on a two year working visa. For my place of residence do I choose the UK or where my passport states?

Hi Lisa, Katrina from World Nomads here. As you are on a temporary work visa (and not considered a permanent resident), for insurance purposes, you should choose the country where you want to be repatriated back to in case you need long term medical care (your usual home country) and where you have access to health services to pay for your long term medical care (this excludes reciprocal health services). This article has more information on which country of residence to choose and your eligibility for cover: http://service.worldnomads.com/customer/portal/articles/1063080-what-is-my-country-of-residence- If you have other insurance related questions, please ask our customer service team: http://worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx over 3 years ago

Hotel for missed connecting flight and baggage delay?

Hi Jonas, Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. As insurance answers depend on your country of residence, we try to keep these for our customer support team to answer you directly: http://worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx However, in general most of the plans cover the cost to replace essential items like your toothbrush, underwear and a change of clothes if you have to wait over for your bags to be returned by a common carrier. There are usually time limits on this cover e.g you have to be without your bags for say a minimum of 12 hours before you can claim you extra expenses (depending on the policy you buy), so check your policy wording carefully. This is usually paid per insured person, per event. As for missed connecting flights, there are specific conditions or situations where you may be able to claim additional expenses to catch up on your planned itinerary. This may cover cancellation costs of pre-booked accommodation if you're stuck somewhere else, although the insurance wont cover something which you'd ordinarily pay for as part of your normal trip (i.e you' d normally have accom expenses if you were stuck or not) or if the airline gives you a free night's accomm. These are explained in the policy wording in full detail. However the carrier cannot cause the delay or if you don't leave the minimum time between connections as shown in your policy, there may not be cover. Be aware, there is usually an excess/deductible or copay that may apply per insured person, per event. Not all plans are the same, so please read the full terms and conditions carefully for full details: http://www.worldnomads.com/travel-insurance/prices-and-benefits.aspx over 3 years ago

Does a person travelling from USA to AUS need personal liability insurance?

Hi Paul, Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. All of the plans we offer are from different insurers. So, depending on the country of residence you choose, you will see different plans with different coverage. For US residents, we work with Travel Guard and they do not to include personal liability cover for the plans we offer. These plans are travel specific plans, including Trip Cancellation and Interruption coverage for your trip deposits; travel delay coverage; medical expenses abroad, emergency medical evacuation and baggage coverage. For Australian residents, we work with certain underwriters at Lloyd's and we include Personal Liability cover as this is more common in the Australian marketplace to include this in travel insurance policies. This cover is only available under the terms of the policy if a third party sues you. If you have further travel insurance specific questions, please talk to our customer services team as we try to keep general travel questions here in Ask A Nomad for our travel community to answer. Here's how to get travel insurance specific help - we have different service teams around the world too, which also depend on the residence of the policy holder: http://service.worldnomads.com/customer/portal/articles/1132793-talk-to-us Hope your family enjoys their stay in Australia! over 3 years ago

In how many times I can pay using VISA credit card to a family plan worldwide excluding USA?

Hi Edinaldo, Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. You can buy a policy via WorldNomads.com using your visa credit card (although some visa debit cards wont work, depending on your bank). For security, we do not store your credit card, so each time you need a new policy or want to buy more cover/extend your trip, you will have to re-enter your credit card details. If you are having trouble using your visa card, it is a good idea to contact your bank or advise us of any error messages that you see when you try to buy a policy. You can reach our customer services team here if you have further questions or issues with payment: http://worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx over 3 years ago

Hi I would like to know if cruise cover is included in the explorer insurance policy for the USA. Can anyone help please. Thanks

Hi Helen, Katrina from WorldNomads.com here. Cruising is generally covered under all the of the plans we offer via WorldNomads.com. However, all plans are different, depending on your country of residence, so please read the policy wording / full description of cover carefully for full terms and conditions, limits and exclusions. For example: there may be some restrictions in cover based on your medical history (e.g pre-existing medical conditions) or some of the activities you may be doing during your trip (e.g adventurous shore excursions). You can check the activity cover here: https://www.worldnomads.com/travel-insurance/adventure-travel-insurance.aspx If you have specific insurance questions, please ask our service team directly: https://www.worldnomads.com/contactus.aspx (we try to keep our Ask a Nomad service for general travel questions that our travel community can answer.) Enjoy your cruise! over 3 years ago
