24 hours in Panama before getting on a cruise. How to spend them and what to visit?

24 hours sounds like a lot, but it actually isn't. I would focus on the old town of Panama City, Casco Viejo. There is great stuff to do that will keep you entertained for a day. Especially the architecture of the renovated buildings is really beautiful, and there are plenty of caf├ęs and restaurants to enjoy the day. I'm going to have roughly 5 days in Panama in June. Any suggestions?

5 days is not a lot of time for seeing Panama, and though I love Bocas del Toro, I would recommend staying in the old town of Panama City, Casco Viejo, and just do some day tours to the sights in the area. You can visit the locks on the canal, take a train along the canal to the Caribbean side, visit a Smithsonian research station, walk the Old Pipeline Road to spot the elusive bird of paradise, go fishing on the canal, and so much more. Panama for a week, what's a good itinerary?

If you only have one week, I would spend the first and last day in the old town of Panama City, Casco Viejo, and then head over to Bocas del Toro on the Caribbean side. There is too much to do here, so read on in our Top Spots in Panama page: www.travelintense.com/eco-travel-destinations/panama about 2 years ago

Fun things to do in Panama?

There is plenty of cool stuff to do in Panama. Go surfing on both coasts, snorkel in the mangroves of Bocas del Toro, dive with whale sharks at Isla Coiba, explore the old town of Casco Viejo, watch local wildlife (poisson dart frogs, monkeys, macaws, sloths, etc), go hiking, go fishing on the side arms of the Panama Canal and so much more. Best Panama surf spots?

For beginners, the Pacific side is best. For experienced surfers, head over to Bocas del Toro and surf with Scott from Red Frog Bungalows. http://redfrogbungalows.com/ If you are interested in other things to do besides surfing in Panama, have a look at our top spots on www.travelintense.com/eco-travel-destinations/panama about 2 years ago

Does anybody know we're a nice clean hotel In Panama Panama City is?

Don't go to modern Panama City. The best place to enjoy the city is the old town of Casco Viejo (www.travelintense.com/casco-viejo), and my favorite place to stay there is Los Cuatro Tulipanes (www.travelintense.com/los-cuatro-tulipanes) right in the heart of it all. about 2 years ago

Going to Boca Del Tores. What are things to do in Panama overall.

Puuuhhh... there is too much to write about for this forum here. But you'll find a great overview on www.travelintense.com/eco-travel-destinations/panama. My favorites are snorkeling in the mangroves of Bocas del Toro, surfing, watching sloths, monkeys and other critters, and exploring the old town of Casco Viejo. about 2 years ago
