Venezuela is a BEAUTIFUL country! But, yes, sadly safety is not #1 as many other countries. Of course, you don't want to be walking in the middle of the street with a camera in your hands 24/7, neither walk in the middle of the night. But there are always great places to visit that you'll be safe. Margarita Island is one of them, specially visiting El Yaque beach since most of the people that live there are European and there are always tourist visiting (about the Island: http://ow.ly/1ClKd ) Also, you might want to take a tour to go to La Gran Sabana (Canaima National Park) is gorgeous and safe if going with a group (http://ow.ly/1ClLX ). In Anzoategui state, you can visit Lecheria, Barcelona (the state capital city) and Puerto La Cruz. Lecheria is very touristic, I'd say stay in a hotel in that city and from Puerto La Cruz you can take a boat to visit the islands/beaches that are beautiful! And of course, last but not least, Los Roques I think is the safest of all and is amazing! Be careful with taxis you take as well. Always try to catch them at the hotel or mall. Hope it helps you! www.accesototal29.blogspot.com for more videos. about 8 years ago
Hi! I'd say visit downtown. Take a look at the Cathedral (Catedral de Se). The theater and nearby the main market (mercado municipal) it all will take you less than 3hours. about 8 years ago
Madrid is awesome and there are so many things you can do in 2 days. Visit 'La Latina' and try some tapas hopping plus a 'caña' (beer) and stroll among locals. Or just sit and relax at 'Plaza Mayor' with a 'sangria jar'. Another square you can visit: Santa Ana where there are some bars, a theater and restaurants. Take a walk by 'La Gran Via', 'Callao' and 'Sol' Lots of stores, bars and restaurants. Another day, you can take it for museums/art. From Atocha station you can walk to Reina Sofia museum (which it's my favorite) and then walk by Paseo del Prado and you'll pass by the Botanical Garden, El Prado museum (it's free on Sunday and I think after 6pm any other day), and then you'll see Neptune fountain in front of the Ritz. If keep walking by Paseo del Prado you'll get to 'Cibeles'. From there, you can visit El Retiro park passing by 'Puerta de Alcala' first. If have time and like football/soccer, don't forget to visit Bernabeu Stadium. Another option, visit Plaza de Oriente, the square by the Royal Palace. Have fun and enjoy Madrid! almost 8 years ago
