We want to take a cruise tour to see the glaciers from the water. We will be in El Calafate in mid November. No more than 2 nights. We are limited for time. We will be in El Calafate in mid November. Any suggestions would be great, Cheers.

The tour to the glaciers it will take the whole day, doen't matter which one you choose (the are two main tours to different glaciers). Just ask at the hotel and they'll call the travel agency for you. We were there in October and we did not have any trouble taking a place from one day to the following day. I'd say you don't need to make a reservstion in advance. over 5 years ago

One of the tours is to PERITO MORENO Glacier: you go by bus till the glacier and there is a fantastic panoramic view. From there you can also take a short trip in a cruise to get close to the glacier and see the other side of it. The second option is UPSALA Glacier: you take s cruise from a port located out of the city and it take almost the whole day and you'll see many glaciers during the day, being the Upsala the most espectacular of them. It's really amazing and remarkable! Try wto do both, they worth it! over 5 years ago

There is also the option of taking a boat to the Perito Moreno glacier and going on a guided trek on the glacier (complimentary whisky on glacier ice included). Walking on the glacier is kind of what I'd imagine walking on the moon would be like: its a different world up there, the shpaes formed on the ice, the whiteness... Its something I'll never forget. over 5 years ago
