Planning to spend three weeks travelling from Bangkok, Thailand to Cambodia, through to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in July. Can any one recommend the things not to miss along the way and/or the best way to travel. Thanks.
Here are my tips!
- Bangkok - Don't miss the Grand Palace, exploring china town, and a walk down the hussle and bussle of Sukhumvit Road
- Cambodia - Don't miss Angkor Wat and the floating village near Siem Reap
- Ho Chi Minh City - Don't miss the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, and a trip to the Mekong Delta about 7 years ago
Apart from the obvious major destinations like Angkor Wat, when you get to Ho Chi Minh, head down to Cantho in the Delta (you can do it by bus - no need to take a tour) - nice little town, great market, authentic feel of the country. Then, if you have time, head across to the island of Phu Quoc ... still very unspoilt.
