I stayed in the towers when my aunt was renting there.

It is a pretty nice location and a very good building.
The docklands tram basically comes just in front of the towers.

Walking to the CBD takes about 15-30 minutes depending on where you want to go. The tram is faster if you want to go to Flinders St. Station or something further into the CBD quickly.

Even though it has probably been said on Tripadvisor the Mecca Bah in the docklands is great (right on the waterside of the Mecure)

I think (now) there should be plenty happening in the Docklands shopping centre. (it was being built when I was there)

We live in one of the Docklands buildings that Grand Mercure offers serviced apartments in. There are 5 high rise buildings side by side, and they're partly owner-occupied too.

The 86, 70 and (free) City Circle trams are the closest/most frequent services to you, and they all leave from the big tram stop in Docklands Drive. You can see the tram stop from outside the Grand Mercure reception office. Other trams are nearby too, there is a full listing at our site - http://www.livingdocklands.com/docklands-public-transport.

All the trams go to or through the CBD, and as an example it takes about 15 minutes by tram to get to Bourke Street Mall, which is roughly in the centre of the city and provides easy, flat walking access to the rest of the city. There's also a tourist information kiosk which is staffed during daylight hours most days.

It's a great spot to begin exploring from and meet up in, if a few people decide to shop while others go on a walking tour, for example,

If you decide to walk, it's a little hilly in some places, gentle hills but enough to stop us from recommending it to older visitors who have stayed with us.

If you're in the VIP suite, hopefully you're enjoying the beautiful view of Vic Harbour and perhaps the city skyline or Port Melbourne and the bay. We love it here. Remember to say hello if you see us in the lift :) over 6 years ago
