I flew LA to Sydney on V and was very happy with the service. Not only that, but I connected to a Virgin Blue flight once I got to Sydney. V Australia had a shuttle bus organised so that as soon as I was through customs my bags and I were collected and taken through to our flight with no delays.

    Hey dude,
I have flown VA AUS to USA twice. Service is good, hosties generally hot, food average, no free booze, seats are comfortable enough, entertainment is good. It is good value but it's not Singapore Airlines so don't expect it to be.
    However, still kicks United's ass!
Also if you want to connect through Brisbane be prepared for an experience in lack of service. Last time I was there connecting to SYD it was pathetic and I was 2 mins off missing my flight at checkin. over 6 years ago

I flew Quantas from SFO to Sydney and Air New Zealand back home - loved both carriers. Always fly international airlines when possible because it seems service, food, entertainment is better. over 6 years ago

V Australia's aircraft are all new, not like some of the dinosaur's that United and Qantas fly. Great service, typical airline food, good entertainment. Probably the better of all the US-AUS carriers for economy. over 6 years ago
