Looking a doing a road trip from Adelaide to Sydney, and want to take a nice scenic route. I don't have a 4WD, so need to be able to stick to tarred roads! Also want to know must see locations, stop off points and nice camping spots.

    Melbourne :-).

The journey Inland , its pretty dry and flat but spectacular. I know the coast route better, you are spoilt for choice either Adelaide to Melbourne, Mt Gambier, Portal, Warranbool, Lorne, Angelsea, Tourquay, Melbourne to Sydney - Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Bega, Pambula, Merimbula, Narooma, Bateman's Bay etc. over 6 years ago

Have done that drive in 2 stints via Melbourne so firstly through Coonawara, Penola, Robe etc is lovely. Then up via Port Fairy to Great Ocean Road. Stopover in Melbourne as well. Mornington Peninsula well worth it if you have the time. Then along coastal road in NSW Mallacoota, Eden, Bega, Tilba Tilba, Berry etc. There's lots of national parks along the way too. Bit of a foodie so lots of these places are renowned for that as well as great scenery. over 6 years ago
