We are driving to Canberra tomorrow (Sunday) for the day to show some friends from Canada. What is the most scenic route and what are some inexpensive things to do and sights to see?

Depending on your idea of scenic, there are two routes from Syd to Canb:

    - Fast route; sees farming land and provides those with a bit of time to stop off at some beautiful towns in the southern highlands like Berry and Bowral.

Longer, coastal scenic route; take the Princes Highway to Wollongong and take the coastal road all the way to almost Bateman's Bay, would take at least 4 hours, but a good drive nonetheless! over 6 years ago

As Patrick said, go the coast road to Batemans Bay and then from there over the range and up to Canberra. That's a really nice drive with lots of great scenery over 6 years ago
