what is the best backpackers in Sydney to stay at? Just looking for good value, fun (meet people), safe, good location to see the sites.
heading there in July, travelling alone, and would love to get some inside advice.
Yo Jubran... Depends what you are after mate! I am from brokepacker.com and so we get to check out quite a few of the hostels in Sydney... and let me tell you they are some of the coolest i have seen around the world. The majority of hostels are either in Kings Cross (which is Sydney's party district!) or in Central Sydney close to a lot of the sites and attractions. There are also some by the beach Bondi and Manly.
There are loads to choose from. In Kings cross... there are plenty of cool options. a couple i have stayed at recently include Dlux, Evas, Brado's and they were all pretty funky, comfy and very vibey!! In the city I stayed at 790 on George St and it was absolutely brilliant too. Let me know more specifically what you are looking for and perhaps let me know if you are more up for partying or sightseeing... and then i can even better inform you!
In the meanwhile check out some of the available discounts at some sydney hostels we offer https://brokepacker.com/hostel-discounts/ about 10 years ago
Hmmm...good question. There are hostels spotted all over Sydney, but I don't really have a stand out for you sorry. Coogee Beach has a lively backpacker scene and there are a some in Kings Cross . ..I'd advise you research well, some of them are pretty grotty.
Youth Hostels Australia might be a good way to go...it's around Haymarket which is in the City and might be a safer and cleaner alternative for you. Youth Hostels is globally known and have standards.
Wish I could tell you more but to be honest I haven't backpacked in years and never in my own back yard as it were. about 10 years ago
hi Jubran, I would recommend Nomads Westend in Pitt Street, just around the corner from Central station, so very close. Its clean, affordable and they organise some really fun activities. They are also part of the Nomads chain, so if you are traveling in Australia, you can buy a Mad card for just $37 that gets you heaps of discounts and even some free stuff - like meals and drinks! The other Nomads hostels are really good and are located all up the East Coast & in New Zealand - you can get some great bargains! Hope this helps. about 10 years ago
