I just read the news that Qantas staff are walking out of their jobs. Is this likely to affect my flights in September?

Qantas has an excellent reputation, but as with any airline, cancellations sometimes are unavoidable, so your guess is as good as anyones. Make sure you have travel insurance, and keep an eye on the news for updates. over 5 years ago

They're no Tiger, that's for sure. Much more reliable than most other Australian carriers. over 5 years ago

Hi Robert, it's Katrina from WorldNomads.com. Just wanted to clarify Glenys' comment about travel insurance coverage in these circumstances. It really depends on the coverage you buy, but most travel insurers will not cover any additional costs associated with industrial action or strikes. You should make sure you keep in touch with Qantas and accept any refunds, rerouting or compensation they offer (if necessary). Do read your travel insurance policy carefully, to make sure you know what's covered (and not), and don't make assumptions that you will be covered for these events or any additional expenses you may incur. about 5 years ago
