My new favourite is Infusion in South Hobart. It is run by the wonderful Van from Vanidol's and his idea is to make it people's local. It is a restaurant, wine bar and cafe. The food is always great. over 7 years ago

This is an easy one. The best value would have to be the Tandoor & Curry House. You don't go there for asthetics, but the food is fantastic and quantity/value is hard to beat. over 7 years ago

Mine would have to be Da Angelos - best italian food going around hobart! over 7 years ago

I personally would give Da Angelos a huge miss - very, very average Italian food. Try Maldini's or for cheap and cheerluk fish and chips - Fish Frenzy or for an upmarket pub meal - T42 about 7 years ago

    Mezethes - Greek (Salamanca Square)
Really good food for price and usually a lot of fun.

    Segreto - Italian (North Hobart)
Excellent pizza and pasta on the main North Hobart strip.

    Paesano - Italian (West Hobart)
Very small little restaurant and a little more hidden for visitors, but cheap cab ride and good food. about 7 years ago

I agree with Swatral some of my favourite Hobart restaurants are Maldinis and T42. Another is Fish349 in North Hobart, their food is excellent. about 7 years ago

I agree with the most of the above - Especially steering clear of Da Angelo ;)

Another one slightly out of the way is Flathead in South Hobart (Cascade Rd)... As the name suggests, they deal predominantly with seafood. Have been there several times and both the service and food have been fantastic. about 7 years ago

Everyone is way off the mark. Head to the Noodle and Tea House on Letitia Street in North Hobart. It's nothing flash, it simply looks like an old corner store front with a house tacked onto the back... because that is what it is. You can choose from a variety of sauces for stir fried noodles or noodle soups. Everything is Vego, with some fake meat pieces, but it is AWESOME and it's only $8.50 for a huge feed. If you eat in, you can sample some of the awesome tea they have as well. It's by far the best value for money Asian in Hobart for a cheap(er) eat almost 7 years ago

'written on tea' (sandy bay road -opposite the metz a little further down the road (50m) towards the casino)
probably the best asian food i have ever eaten with incredibly cheap prices and best of all its BYO...
the restaurant is probably a year old now... it originally opened as a niche little place but because of the quality of the food and the prices the place has been insanely busy ever since (bookings a must)... oh and you have to try the dumplings and the beans... amazing!!!! over 6 years ago
