My travel partner has a very bad back and can go into excruciating spasms so she is fearful of flying for more than a few hours.

4 hr from syd pretty much narrows you down to nz and some of the pacific islands such as fiji, samoa, tonga, new caledonia, etc.... I think cook island is more than 4hrs over 5 years ago

I personally love fiji, people there are so friendly, 3 hrs flight from Sydney, plenty of westernised places to stay so food wouldnt be too bad.. good value for money 1 AUD =1.70 Fiji Dollar, always deals around for fiji... , some nice beaches on islands off the main island... unfortunately, theres not much shopping on these islands... for shopping, NZ would be your best bet.. beautiful country but not as cheap and might require abit of travelling around which might be bad for your partner over 5 years ago

Fiji is a definite haven. There are many flights and hotels with class. Denarau Island is quite popular, where you can go shopping, sun bathing and island hopping.

You can visit Mana island, Namuamua island.. and many more over 5 years ago
