I've been to Brisbane a few times but never found the good restaurant areas. Where are they, and can you recommend a few places? Thanks!

    Would definately recommend Garuva, http://www.garuva.com.au/
It is hidden tranquility as it says on the website. The food is not the best, but its worth it for the ambiance. You can tell this place is a hit for the fact they have never advertised and there is no signage, though it is always booked.
When you find the entrance you walk through a mini rainforest and when you open the big old door you will see that every table is seperated by sheer curtains. Be sure to wear clean socks though, you need to take your shoes off and sit on low lounge cusions!. Also there is a lovely little bar at the back that offers delicious cocktails!, recommend going during the week, as Friday and Sat the romance is lost a bit with all the people...

Another place I would recommend is Yakiniku www.yakiniku.com.au
This place is in the Valley, near China Town and offers a Japanese BBQ Experience. You have a grill in the middle of the table and you can cook yourself everything they bring out, lots of different things to chose from!xx over 7 years ago

South bank has some very nice new restaurants on the river. I was there last week but can't remember the name of the place we ate at. Very nice view and atmosphere. It was at the far end of south bank - not the side with the museum, the other end. over 4 years ago
