Does the normal rule of "street stalls food is best and safe when cooked in front of you" apply or what is the deal? Are there certain styles that I have to go to certain places for?

Food from/on the street is mostly OK, go where locals go, check food counters at supermarkets, very good :-) over 6 years ago

The Street Vendors at Main Mall are usually very good. The large one that operated in the large area in front of the Presidents Hotel.
For a slightly more quiet version there is a place called "Belgrade Takeaway" in The Village in the plaza behind the Choppies that is very chilled and clean. about 5 years ago
