I will be travelling to China next week and plan on taking a netbook with me so I can keep in contact with home, but was wondering how readily available free WiFi is around China.

    I travel a lot around China and most hotel provide it you just have to ask and not take it for granted that it is not offered almost 3 years ago

    In big cities, wifi is easy to get, no matter in hotels or coffee bars, sometime the wifi in hotels are not free. almost 3 years ago

    Most hotel has Internet, may free or not. Not all serves WiFi. Most Cafe chains has Free wifi in big cities, even McDonald almost 3 years ago

    But most k f c and Mac donalad have free wifi for 30 min every day
    Or you can buy one month wifi for 30 rmb and use it ever where almost 3 years ago
