It depends on how much you are willing to spend. You can check into Jinling Hotel, which is probably the best in town and costs a lot. And there is Home Inn which is like an economy lodge kinda hotel, so it depends. about 5 years ago

All round China there are two hotel branches called green tree and hanting, these are about 30 euros the night and the quality standards are quite good. The problem is that receptionists hardly speak english. about 5 years ago

I stayed at one called the Traveler's Soul Inn which was very nice. The rooms were very large, cheap, and clean, but there were a few drawbacks.

The staff spoke broken English. It is definitely manageable without speak a word of Chinese, but it will be somewhat difficult and complex concepts won't be understood.
It wasn't very central. We had to walk 10 minutes to a bus stop just to get to our subway stop.
This could be a positive or a negative thing: It wasn't very busy. I booked a dorm and had my own room for 4 straight nights.
You will NOT be able to find this hostel on your own. It is located INSIDE what they call a "Science and Technology Park" (it looked a lot like a college campus), but it's up a ramp and back into the woods a bit.

A gorgeous hostel that I would ABSOLUTELY recommend and revisit, but there were a couple of complications. about 5 years ago
