    The usual list would be

    Forbidden City
    Tiananmen Square
    Temple of Heaven
    Summer Palace
    Ming Tombs
    Great Wall
    Hutongs
    Olympic Sites
    Peking Opera
and finally eat some Peking Roast Duck

If you're a little more specific with your interests then there are many other suggestions off the beaten track. almost 6 years ago

Just had a good experience using a one day guide from travel.ly in Shanghai. I'd try them for Beijing. Ideally to see a non-tourist part of the great wall. over 5 years ago

Go to Jingshan Park!! It is usually overlooked by tourists, even though it is quite literally right in the center of the city. The park is directly behind the Forbidden City, and contains a hill, from the top of which is an absolutely stunning, 360 degree view of Beijing. over 3 years ago
