Must do/see things in Cuba?

almost 3 years ago about Cuba

In September I'm travelling to a few central american countries, Cuba in particular, and wanted to get some ideas on what to do/where to go on the trip. Pretty unplanned so any suggestions in that region welcome!

Try to get a fly to Santiago de Cuba, very interesting place and came back to Havana by land. buses, taxis is easy if you speak some Spanish, In Havana is a good idea to stay with a family, in the street call Consulado, In Havana vieja, are a few family hostels, clean, cheap, and you get an idea of the life in Cuba, this is in an street parallel to Paseo el Prado,a walking place in the center of the city a lot of art for sale a few restaurant a couple of music and dancing places. El Malecon is not far away, walking distance.I enjoy Cuba, my family not so. almost 3 years ago

I been there last year. I recomend claritas and orlands house in la habana. Www.claritayorlando.com
Then, we went to pinar del rio province. Nice, quite and rural enviroment. I recomend you also "trinidad", a traditional colonial spanish style village. Good trova music and greats mojitos.
If you are interested in cuban revolution, go to santa clara and matanzas day tour.
Santiago is also very interested, but sometimes is little far to be included in short itineraries. almost 3 years ago
