We spent time in Sharm el Sheikh and found a great seafood restaurant in the bazaar in the old town.
Highlights for us - Mt Sinai at sunrise, day trip to Petra (AMAZING!!!!).
We went to Cairo for the day to do the essential pyramids and museum and couldn't wait to get out of there.
Sharm el Sheikh is a good starting point for diving. Lots of dive companies and good to get one that will take you further out ie, live aboard for a few nights.
I've heard Dahab is good for diving also. about 10 years ago
Here's the best diving site ever....The BLUE HOLE in Dahab, Sinai, Dahab is known to be enjoyable for backpackers..there's an underworld to discover over there. Also Sharm El Sheikh is amazing with incredible nightlife and five star hotels.
