Hi Diego, I was there 12 months ago. It's a very safe country. There's almost no crime and as a turist you'll feel very welcome. We rented a car and asked the guy at the agency how much should we bribe the police in case we get stopped and he was shocked we even asked - no bribing. And then we asked what do we do if the car gets stolen, and he said he hasn't heard of a stolen car in Tbilisi in the last years. We also had no problems at all. What amazed me is that the young guys in the subway would stand up for my wife to sit down (she's only 30).

Theyn I guess you want to know about traveling to East Europe from there? I've done a trip like that 10 years ago, but anyway, east Turkey is very safe - I hitchhiked all the way through Turkey and sometimes people invited me to their home to sleep there overnight and so one. In big cities in Turkey and In the Balkans juat take the normal precautions.

But if you thought of traveling through the Nortkern Caucasous... That I dont know. Have a nice trp. over 7 years ago

And if planning to cross the border Armenia-Turkey, check where you can actually do it. Some posts were closed some years ago, I think... over 7 years ago

If you were only traveling to Tbilisi, Batumi or Gori. It is absolutely safe and people extremely friendly. Like many said, don't venture into Abkhazia or South Ossetia without expressed permission or guides. over 7 years ago

Georgia is safe but use safety precautions, like you would anywhere. Don't try to go to Abkhasia or Ossetia, even the Georgians don't go there...visit my FB page Menu Voyage, it will give you an idea of the wonderful land of Sakartvelo.. Have fun! over 7 years ago
