I am staying in Munich for a week in April 2015 with my husband. We don't feel comfortable renting a car, so we'd like to use public transportation to get around. I know very basic German, so there might be a slight language barrier.

My question is-- what is the best package for public transportation in Munich? We are hoping to visit the Deutches Museum, Olympiapark, Dachau, Neuschwanstein Castle, and definitely a day trip to Salzburg.

I know there are different options like the partner 3-day ticket for the inner zone or the partner 1-day ticket for the entire network, but I'm not completely sure which combination of tickets would be the most beneficial and economical for us.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The metro system in Munich is modern and easy to navigate. I recommend using Google Maps to help plan your routes. Note: Salzburg would be a special tour bus route and not part of the city transit.

Also, the city is very walkable! We were fine just using the tubes to get to most neighborhoods then hiking the rest. over 2 years ago
