    Unknown treasure-Semuc Champay outside of Coban in central Guatemala. Gotta see Lago Atitlan near Panajachel. Antigua is nice if you want a real touristy place that is architecturally like Spain. Stay away from Guatemala City as much as possible! Do a boat ride up Rio Dulce to Livingston. Of course Tikal is a must see. Try to stay on the island of Flores. It's beautiful! over 3 years ago

    the must buy tourist stuff is jade, and anything handcrafted in Guatemala.. I agree with the previous post to your question..avoid Guatemala city, but her other suggestions are right on point.. over 3 years ago

    Antigua was pretty amazing even with all the western influence. I loved the view & being able to see 3 volcanoes at once. You should try to see Cerro de la Cruz, it's absolutely breathtaking. Antigua is also pretty safe to wander the streets and shop. over 2 years ago
