We are coming to Europe between mid-June and September.
Keen to spend some time in Iceland but have no idea if it is better to come over in late spring or later in the summer?
Any recommendations?

I think it really depends on what you want, I have a friend who is in Iceland now, and I get reports of meltwater that made a few hiking trails more challenging. Not inaccessible or impossible, just more challenging. But the weather generally seems more agreeable.

I travelled to Iceland last year for 14 days in September, it was at the beginning of the low season so prices were better, and attractions weren't too crowded. It was cloudy the entire time except for two gorgeous afternoons along the South Coast and Snaefellsnes. It remained overcast the rest of the time, so we did not catch any sightings of the aurora although activity levels were high the entire time T.T

Not sure about the months of July/August though! about 4 years ago
