In India, budget travelers usually stay in guest houses. They are usually pretty cheap so there is no need to stay in a hostel. Bring your own combination lock. Also, pick up a copy of the Lonely Planet India guide or buy some chapters on line. It will steer you to the cheap but good guest houses. 8 months agoAnswered by Lindi via WorldNomads.com
