In India, budget travelers usually stay in guest houses. They are usually pretty cheap so there is no need to stay in a hostel. Bring your own combination lock. Also, pick up a copy of the Lonely Planet India guide or buy some chapters on line. It will steer you to the cheap but good guest houses. 11 months agoAnswered by Lindi via WorldNomads.com
