I'm planning a 4-6 week visit to India. Not including flight to and from the country, how much would you budget for this amount of time? I'm looking to do it on the cheap. Which I recognize means getting down and dirty, but I'd like to avoid getting super sick, so I'll probably splurge on the cleanest looking street food.

How much money would you imagine I'll need? I want to visit the country too, so I'd like to move around (as cheaply as possible, which is probably via public transit...)...

So one month including food, accommodation, transportation (cheap), and probably a few entertainment things here and there. No need to factor in flight costs to/from the country.

Thanks in advance for all your help! Appreciate it! :)

    • Yeah, I think Vasu is about right there. I would not try to do it with less than $2000 and hopefully would only actually spend $1500. Jarrod Brown over 5 years ago
