I was travelling across Rajasthan during the last week of August and it was very very hot. Although its predominantly a desert, you do have lush green hill stations where temperatures are pretty low. From the last week of Oct, the weather should get tolerable in Rajasthan. almost 5 years ago

Without doubt, it's winters i.e. November to Feb. Avoid going during peak summer months of April-July.
And another thing to keep in mind is that the the state experiences extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, it being a desert. So even if it is hot during the day, the nights will be cool. And if the days are cool, the nights will be chillier. over 3 years ago

I have just travelled Rajasthan i May, and even though the temperature is a challange, a hotel room with a fan or A/C will make life in Rajasthan not so bad, even at this time. The advantage of traveling later than march, is fewer tourists, and better hotelprices. over 3 years ago

I think 3 weeks would be a good amount of time in Rajasthan. From what you say about your friends I'd suggest a car and driver. I found it super easy and flexible. It meant I could do what I wanted when I wanted. With 3 travelling it shouldn't be too expensive. I found it no more expensive than a group tour and I was travelling alone so shared it would be even more reasonable. over 2 years ago
