I find it really hard to barter accommodation prices in Ubud. They won't budge! It seems that with the online booking agents the hotel managers are willing to have rooms empty rather than barter for cash. This being the case, I find it hard to find anything under $35 per night and that's pretty basic, not 'Bali' basic but basic. I know this is cheap by western standards but it's not Bali Cheap; surely. How do you swing local prices, or at least get a clean bed and bathroom for less than $30 per night, particularly on a long term stay? I'm going for 12 months this time so I've got to break through the tourist price barrier!
Hi, You can rent a local house for a year, and it is cheaper than staying in a hotel room
