going to bali for the first time with three kids... good tips please
we have regularly headed to Bali with our family, and in fact it's a wonderful destination for children and the people of the island are incredibly hospitable. We usually base ourselves either in Ubud or sometimes Padangbai and then go out from there. Check my posts here: http://answers.worldnomads.com/questions/indonesia/1849/tips-for-travelling-with-a-toddler-to-bali or here: http://answers.worldnomads.com/questions/indonesia/1776/must-must-do-in-bali
Loads of temples all over the island, far too many to see in fact but there are some exceptional ones that aren't too touristy if you go at the right time of the day (very early!).
Word of caution: take a mosquito net and repellant. Malaria is the least of your worries right now. Dengue fever is the one to watch and there is no medical protection: http://journals.worldnomads.com/safetyhub/story/69437/Indonesia/Bali-Dengue-Rabies-Drugs-and-Terror-in-Paradise

The people of Bali are very calm and accommodating. We didn't feel at all concerned about walking the streets at night in the Legian area ( Kuta). The people of Bali are them selves very fond of children. Don't batter too hard as these people survive on tourism. They don't make much money in my estimation. about 7 years ago
