I'd recommend checking out this site if you haven't already: http://www.celticcastles.com/find_irish.asp
Most of these places are pretty expensive; 150 Euro and up and some of them require at least a week rental.

If you're interested in checking out a few castles on a day trip or something here are a few I recommend:
-Dunluce Castle in Northern Ireland (it's close to the Giant's Causeway which I strongly recommend visiting! You can do a coastal drive from Belfast up to the Causeway and stop along the way at a rope bridge, fishing villages, and pass by various ruins.)

-Blarney Castle in Blarney which is located in the town of Blarney just outside of Cork city. There are buses that run from Cork city centre a few times a day. I'd recommend taking an entire day out for this castle as there's a path that goes around the grounds, gardens, and then of course you have to kiss the Blarney stone that gives you the gift of the gab!

Hope this helps! over 5 years ago

Two ultra deluxe castles that are phenomenal are Ashford Castle (near Galway in County Mayo) and Dromoland Castle (County Clare near Shannon airport). Both are members of Virtuoso, so booking through a Virtuoso travel agent will get you some extra complimentary benefits. http://britishislestouring.com/hotels/ireland%20virtuoso%20hotels%20map.htm over 5 years ago
