There is no absolute answer to that question either way. You can get advice on the dangers (if any) of a traveling to a particular country usually from your own government's website. For example the state department of the United States lists countries which might not be safe to travel to for various reasons on its site.

I can tell you that I have been to Tel Aviv several years ago and security is very tight all around the city. Personally I would feel safe going back but we all know what is going on in that part of the world now and as such it is a risk. Consider though, that everywhere you travel is a risk and Tel Aviv is not necessarily more of one than any other just because of a government list.

It all comes down to what you want to do.

I was in Tel Aviv in May 2007 and again now in January/February 2009 and always felt very safe (I also went clubbing and to a wedding...).
I think fear always! starts at a personal level...
In my opinion Tel Aviv is one of the safer places over there, due to economy and stuff, heading off to Be'er Sheva as one of the bigger cities (where really missiles - or whatever - came down) my feeling was a little bit stranger, but just for a second...
Actually beeing there you are totally going to change your feelings about fear, it is just such a different area/way of living, to all what 'we' are usually used to...
As you can see from my a little confused answer, there is no real objective answer about the safety in Tel Aviv or any place in Israel. I just love that country and the people and would go there anytime! After all millions of people live their daily life there... over 5 years ago

Tel Aviv is safe just as other big city's in the world.
It is true that it had it's share of terror attacks but is there any big western city that did not had a taste of that? (NY, London, Paris)

Tel Aviv has the best night life scene I experienced during my travels, and I've been around...

Go and have fun - dont let government lists scare you or else you will end up looking at the world on a paper globe @ home. over 5 years ago
