I will be flying from Sicily to Rome on Alitalia and then transferring to British Air to London. This will likely include a terminal change.
From the little info I can wheedle out of these airlines, I apparently cannot check my luggage through to London.
As a transit passenger in Rome, will I need to pass through Immigration Control, etc to get my bag?
If the air travel is not/ was not ticketed together you will have to collect your bags, check into your BA flight - give them your bags and get your boarding pass, then clear customs and immigration.
Because you are arriving on a domestic flight from Sicily you probably won't have to clear customs on arrival, just get your bags and get yourself to the international terminal.
Also, be wary of your baggage allowance - you may be allowed more on one then the other, and have to pay excess fees if that is the case. about 7 years ago
