Just walk, you simply cannot go wrong. about 7 years agoAnswered by Frank via Travellr.com
Ca'dei Doge is nice and in a good location
Hotel Becher is lovely
There is a Best Western just off the back of St Marks Square, which wouldnt be my first choice for hotels, but the location is fab.
For tours, I would suggest you do your own. Venice is a fab city to just walk around, get lost a little in and then stumble across a little cafe bar and grab a spritzer or two.
The one tour that I did do was the beind the scenes at the Doges Palace which was fab. We had a great guide and it was well worth the extra money. Apart from that, we walked, hopped on the water ferry and meandered around.
I liked doing the circle out to Murano via the cemetary, then Burano and Torcello before getting out at Murano for a wander around. about 7 years ago
