Not really , unless you are a recreational drug user. I had to spent 2 days on business there and would never choose it to vacation. Maybe once upon a time it was pure, now it is polluted and has bad energy.

Stephen, it depends on what your definition of "good" is, and I see what AngelLight has posted.... it's about personal taste and preference.
No doubt Jamaica has its problems, and you are well advised to stay away from parts of Kingston and Spanish Town.

You will be asked if you want to buy "ganja" and I'm told the beach boys (touts) can be a bit intimidating.

Hi Stephen, I agree with Phil and Angellight. It really does depend on what you want. There are some resorts there that are lovely and you may not even have to leave them! Be aware that Jamaica is extremely poor and that they rely heavily on the tourist dollar so you will be hassled to buy stuff. Avoid Kingston and Montego Bay about 6 years ago

There a couple of very nice all-inclusive resorts near Montego Bay, such as Secrets Wild Orchid. It is gated, has a secure beach that keeps out the local "businessmen" and plenty of restaurants on property. Hire a car to take you around the island rather than a cab. If you are a golfer, the White Witch is not to be missed. Spectacular course. about 6 years ago

Staying in port antonio was the greatest traveling experience my girlfriend and I have encountered! We stayed on that side of the island because of the countless things to do! Blue lagoon, Frenchmen cove, rio grande, reach falls, etc! You really get to experience the true culture! The drive along the coast was beautiful and definitely worth the drive. Awesome scenery. The people were slightly aggressive when trying to sell stuff, but never threatening. Jamaica is a great vacation spot!! about 6 years ago

Jamaica? Never again! Like vacationing in central Detroit. Barb wire surrounds everything. Jamaicans are VERY aggressive in attempting to separate you from your money. Worst vacation ever. Oh! Did I mention my friends were able to get robbed?.. about 4 years ago

I was there years ago, didn't like it then & vowed I'd never go back. A lot like Tijuana, very aggressive people always trying to sell you something you don't want. It really is a poor country with not that much to offer. The scenery is beautiful, too bad a lot of the people ruin it for vacationers. over 3 years ago
