I'm heading to Tokyo for a few days with friends and I really want to stay in a capsule hotel.

I've read loads about places like http://first-cabin.jp/ and http://9hours.jp/, but neither of them are located in Tokyo.

Has anyone heard of or stayed at something similar in Tokyo?

There is one in the heart of the electronic area, akihabara. It's the cheapest way to sleep in Japan. Be ready for some extreme snoring ! Men and women are always on separate floors and your 'room' is only accessible from a certain hour on.
All capsules have radio, tv and a fishy 'insert coin' machine attached to the tv....
Your luggage can be locked at the lobby's luggage rack. You swap your shoes for flip flops at the entrance .
Great experience that you repeat during your trip trough Japan. over 4 years ago
