Has anyone stayed in a "love hotel" in Kyoto? I've heard about them - just wondering if it would be worthwhile checking out when we're in Kyoto!

Love hotels don't need bookings, you simply rock up and pick the room you'd like from a video screen in the foyer. I recommend Adonis in Tennoji, Osaka. That's the one with kitty themed SM room. Stayed in the party room and it was incredible. expect to pay about 15,000-20,000 for a night, but often booked up. about 5 years ago
