im staying in tokyo for a month because im doing a study abroad program i wanted to know what essentials i should take for a trip that long.
Also the does and donts and the basic words i should learn before going.
Well, a phrasebook for your phone is always helpful:
Get a SIM for your phone when you arrive. I have an answer on where and how to do this elsewhere here.
Make sure you know some basic etiquette:
- don't pass food between chopsticks; you only ever do that with the bones of the dead.
- always eat the rice, every last honourable grain.
- always pour alcohol for other people not yourself
- learn to bow (after a month it'll feel like your a marionette with a caffine problem.) almost 4 years ago
