Definitely sun city and Capetown are fine.. Kenya can be scary at night due to muggers - do not go any back lanes at all.. And don't wear flashy jewellery even if it's fake. about 8 years ago

Lived in all places, and have a little one. Knysna is fantastic, but think more about Plettenburg bay. So much to do and beach goes on forever.
Kenyan coast is great, especially Watamu, which is safer than the south coast. about 8 years ago

Whilst Cape Town and Knysna are in the south eastern cape, garden route area bear in mind that Kenya is a four hour flight away from Johannesburg and they are worlds apart about 8 years ago

It is definitely safe to travel with children to Kenya, Cape Town and Knysna. What a lovely variety of experiences you'll get in these areas.

If you want to be 100% sure that you'll be safe on a holiday with your kids in Kenya, don't opt for a self-drive journey. I suggest you booking a family safari package through a reputable agent. This will mean that the routes you travel on and the activities you do are all pre-approved for a safe safari getaway suitable for children.

Cape Town is absolutely great for children, and so is Knysna. Both towns are laid back and peaceful with loads of greenery and things to do for the whole family.

Enjoy your travels! almost 8 years ago
